Abigail Woolaston

Currently living in the Lake District, UK, I’m a trail and mountain runner for the UK Salomon U23 Futures Team. Having started with 50km and 100km ultramarathons at the age of 15, I raced across many distances in the road before making the transition to the trails in 2022. I joined the Salomon UK team 2 years ago having run in the Phantasm 24 hour track relay with 4 athletes, setting a new world record distance of 363.3km on a track. After this amazing event, I ran my first ever season on the trails over the summer of 2022, competing across a variety of distances and terrains including The Corfu Mountain Trail and the UK GTNS. Finishing the series in 2nd place overall, I was invited out to compete in the GTWS Final in Madeira alongside incredible athletes from across the globe. Around the trails, I also compete on the road, having completed the 2021 London Marathon in a time of 02:48:09, ranking 6th fastest GB U20 female of All Time. 2023 started strong on the roads with a 01:17:57 half marathon in Ghent, followed by a 03:59:57 trail 50km as part of the UK GTNS. Having suffered with a hamstring injury for the majority of 2023, 2024 has started off well with a win at a trail half marathon in Scotland. I am looking forward to the season ahead competing on the trails in Golden Trail races across the globe.
