My name is Sophia Laukli and I’m 23 years old, coming originally from Yarmouth, Maine in the United States. I spent the last few years skiing and studying economics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, and just recently moved to Oslo, Norway last year. I am a professional cross-country skier on the US ski team, competing on the World Cup circuit in Europe in the winter, and competed at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. For most of my life, I have been a cross-country skier and just started trail running two years ago when I was living in Utah. I joined team Salomon USA in 2022 and competed my first season on the Golden Trail World Series that year. I ended up finishing second place in the overall circuit in 2022, with a win at the Stranda Fjord trail race in Norway, second place at Flagstaff Sky Peaks, and third place at Pikes Peak. I joined the Salomon International team last year in 2023 and competed my second season on the Golden Trail circuit. My top individual results from 2023 were first place at Marathon du Mont Blanc, Sierre-Zinal, and Pikes Peak, all helping me win the overall Golden Trail Series title. Running again for Salomon this year, I plan to race the Golden Trail circuit again and hope to defend last year’s title.
